An artist from the Russian hinterland writes extraordinary paintings that are difficult to distinguish from coinage
Today, the visual arts, as never before, have an unlimited degree of freedom in the choice of themes, ideas, designs, and artistic means. However, not many masters manage to surprise the viewer with their non-standard and harmonious combination of form and content. About one talented artist from Bryansk, who managed to achieve this in full – our today’s review. And how vividly and interestingly Sergey Kustarev embodied his idea of imitating three-dimensional coinage through oil painting-you, our readers, can judge.
Sergey Kustarev is an artist with a huge creative potential, constantly developing his skills. Working on himself, he is always in search of new horizons, which, of course, finds and embodies in his paintings. He easily paints magnificent landscapes, makes custom portraits classic or with a free, unusual setting, turning an ordinary person into a fictional fantasy image of a Royal person or a warrior.
So, by harmoniously mixing the palette of colors, imitating the coinage, and “seasoning” all this with talent and inspiration, the artist created a unique collection of works, the main role in which is given to the imitation of volumetric texture for metal and leather. It should be noted that such an extraordinary technique quickly gained both domestic and foreign fans, and its author – a good reputation in many European countries.
The picturesque technique combined with the interior decoration imitating hammered metal, which gives a delightful decor to each work, is unique and inimitable in its execution.
The main theme of the artist’s works, first of all, is the image of a woman. These are mostly original portraits, finely and meticulously spelled out, the background of which is decorated with metal and leather. The artist’s heroines are artistic, graceful and charming, mysterious, tender and extravagant. Some of them resemble powerful and courageous Amazon warriors.
It should be noted that the artist in his works masterfully imitates several varieties of chased techniques: planar, relief, and patterned, made under, ornamental-punch coinage. Coinage is one of the oldest types of artistic Metalworking, in which the finished product is “blackened” and polished, thus giving expressiveness to the drawing.
And Kustarev creates such an effect on his canvases by means of oil paint, prescribing with a thin brush every, even the smallest detail. This is really a laborious laborious work of the artist, striking the imagination of the audience. And, of course, it’s worth it…
