About the Masks

Each unique mask is hand carved from industrial grade fiberboard and cedar using at least 70% recycled materials.  This is overlaid with a polymer-based plaster, fabric and fiber, and finished with acrylic paints and glazes.  Each mask requires over 40 separate steps from design to finish and takes from five to eight weeks to complete.

About the Artists

Mystic Masks is a collaborative artistic effort of Sculptor/husband Mike and Painter/wife Mimi Morelli.  The artists are self-taught and have been creating masks for over seven years.  All work is executed in a bustling home-based studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado, using mostly recycled materials.
